To be honest, the scheme is rather boring, but at some point you really have to think through your steps and pump out different characteristics, since not everyone can come in handy in this or that situation. Somewhere you need a lot of armor, somewhere speed and so on, a similar scheme for maneuvers is quite addictive. The only bonus is that you can join other players and pass levels together, but it's not as interesting as it might seem.
